On March 2, 2015 this writer published an article in the Argentum Post titled Netanyahu’s Outrageously Insolent Intrusion In Congress Comprises the Misuse of Anti-Semitism and The Exploitive Abuse of the Holocaust History.
On the same day, the prestigious Democracy Now program featured an interview by Amy Goodman and Aaron Maté of legendary scholar and author Noam Chomsky on the same subject of said Argentum Post article.
In said interview, one of the most salient statements by Chomsky was in response to a question as to why Iran is being singled out to be so relentlessly vilified by both, Israel and the United States.
Chomsky response was that fundamentally the sole reason for the obsession with Iran is that Iran represents the most formidable deterrent to the worst aggressors in the Middle East, namely the alliance of extremist right wing neocon hawks, mostly Republicans, in the U.S. power structure and the extremists right wing (revisionist) Zionists in the Israeli power structure.
This allegation is amply documented and this perspective is widely shared in the international community. One of the sources of documentation is found in the book “Manufactured Crisis : The Untold Story of the Iran Nuclear Scare” by investigative journalist and author Gareth Power.
At some point Chomsky states that it is not Iran which should be sanctioned, but it is the U.S. and Israel which should be sanctioned. It is well-known how the U.S. and Israel have teamed up in sabotaging electronically Iran’s legal and peaceful nuclear program and it is also well-known that Israel has carried out assassinations of Iranian nuclear scientists, in what can only be characterized as acts of state-terrorism.
So, with this foreword, for the benefit particularly of those readers which access the Argentum Post in now about 90 countries, this Noam Chomsky March 2, 2015 interview by Democracy Now is hereby provided incorporated.
