Rashid Khalidi, an American historian of the Middle East, the Edward Said Professor of Modern Arab Studies at Columbia University, and director of the Middle East Institute of Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs, who was in Lebanon when under Ariel Sharon’s leadership Lebanon was bombed and invaded resulting in the death of some 20,000 people, describes as “horrific” how the US mainstream media describes Sharon in the coverage of his death after being comatose for 7 years. He was as well dismayed by how Vice-President Biden eulogized Sharon.
Ariel Sharon conceived the “unilateralist” vision of an Israel which would take over more “lebensraum” and would ignore UN resolutions calling for Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, all under the influence of the myth based ideology of Zionism.
To add insult to injury, Ariel Sharon once in Lebanon, gave the green light for the terrorist right-wing so-called “Christian” Falangists to attack two Palestinian refugee camps where they carried a massacre of more than one thousand man, women, and children refugees.
The prestigious and independent Democracy Now organization whose leader is legendary Amy Goodman, provides interviews and video coverage which documents the above the synopsis of the real background of this man who should have been indicted by the International Criminal Court for his crimes against humanity.
On March 7th, 2014 the first ever, long overdue, National Summit to Reassess US Policy Towards Israel, will be held at the National Press Club.
Without US support of Israel’s misleadership, the Zionist power structure would not have ventured and certainly would up to not now succeed on this relentless path of international law violations and crimes against humanity, falsely invoking the Nazi atrocities against Jews and the Zionist mythical biblical passages as a pretext for this destructive path towards Palestinians and in the long run towards the best interests of decent, rationalist, humanist Jews in Israel and globally.
