It Does Not Take Donald Trump to Question McCain’s Record

Donald Trump’s odious racist generalizations about Mexicans are repulsive and ignorant.  Period.

The fact that he is rating high in his quest for the Republican nomination is relevant and revealing of the decadence of the values of the Republican ideo-political culture.

As for McCain’s general political history as well as his accident while bombing the Vietnamese people, one would be hard pressed to find justification for imbuing him with the an aura characterized by “heroism”.

As a matter of fact, McCain owes his life to the North Vietnamese soldiers who rescued him after he was badly injured and was drowning in a lake whereinto he fell.

McCain was and remains a right-wing extremist hawk who enthusiastically supported the U.S. war on Vietnam which was fully escalated on the basis of the fraudulent Gulf of Tonkin claim.

McCain enthusiastically supported the U.S. war on Iraq which was also undertaken on the basis of false neocon claims and McCain also expressed support for bombing Iran in during his campaign for the 2008 presidential election, at an appearance in Murrells, South Carolina, where he responded to an audience question about military action against Iran by referring to “that old Beach Boys song, ‘Bomb Iran’,” then singing the parody chorus, “Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, anyway, ah …”

So, with this foreword one may consider additional ten myths about McCain’s background captured by Media Matters   and finally to that set of historical facts, those not living in what Gore Vidal characterized the “United States of Amnesia” one may recall that it was reported independently, because the corporatized mainstream media hardly touched it , that a horrific incident took place which caused the death of crewmen on the Forrestal aircraft carrier, an event which was linked to McCain’s “wet start” , which was a reckless practice among young “hot dog” pilots.

Details of this event were covered in a plurality of independent publications, and to wit, most particularly by the Wayne Madsen Report of the  Rocket Free Press.

After this explosion and fire, McCain was quickly transferred to the USS Oriskany (the only Forrestal crewman to be immediately transferred). Three months later, McCain was shot down over North Vietnam on October 26, 1967.

As WMR previously reported, at the time of the Forrestal disaster, McCain’s father, Admiral John McCain, Jr., was Commander-in-Chief of US Naval Forces Europe (CINCUSNAVEUR) and was busy covering up the details of the deadly and pre-meditated June 8, 1967, Israeli attack on the NSA spy ship, the USS Liberty.

Finally it is noteworthy that recently, when McCain in the position of the Senate Armed Forces Committee director  had invited Henry Kissinger, who along with President Nixon used the CIA and the ITT corporation  set the stage for the destabilization for the crushing of the Chilean democracy led by Dr. Salvador Allende during the 9/11 attack in 1973 by two Chilean Air Force planes ordered to do so by General Augusto Pinochet, an act for which both Kissinger and Nixon should have been indicted,   a small  group of peaceful democracy activist of the Code Pink organization stood up and expressed their protest, McCain yelled at them “get out, you low life scum“…

To sum up, McCain the “hero” was a characterization which was designed to give McCain badly needed political traction, particularly when he chose, of all people, Sarah Pailin (?) for his failed presidential quest as a running mate, and this characterization succeeded among the non-sapient species of the electorate genus.
