Mr. Chaffetz in his “ I Do It Because It is Right “ is Dead Wrong on Death With Dignity

Representative Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) who as the Mormon leader of House Oversight Committee relishes in targeting D.C. law, now has had the temerity to declare that he wants to have blocked the District’s law that would make medically assisted suicide legal, because in his words “ …I do it because it is right…” and because it will “…create a marketplace for death…”
In attempting to deny people the fundamental human right to not have to go through torture before the “system” allows them to die because Chaffetz feels “…it is right…” reflects his right-wing extremist ideology, and to vulgarize the right to die with dignity law by suggesting that it leads to a “…marketplace for death…” is simplistically grotesque and dishonest, since such laws are endowed with stringent regulations.
Chaffetz thereby displays an appalling ignorance, arrogance, hypocrisy, insensitivity, and most probably a willingness to violate the U.S. Constitution which guarantees the separation of church and state. Let him try to impose this ban in Utah when even Utah’s voters will demand this law, but keep his hands off DC.
Medically assisted suicide is the law in 6 states and at least in 8 developed countries.
Yes, dead wrong!
