Chris Hedges is an icon of superb unflawed scholarly thinking and knowledge of the highest ethical integrity.

He also happens to be a Pulitzer Prize  journalist, a Professor at Princeton University, and a Presbyterian Minister.

Recently Chris Hedges was interviewed by the intrepid, incisive, courageous, high integrity American journalist, Abby Martin, who is also the presenter of The Empire Files, which is an investigative news program on the satellite network teleSUR English.  She also happens to be an artist and an activist.

So, to cut to the chase, the Argentum Post shares with its readers, infra,  a riveting interview by Abby Martin of Chris Hedges which has a duration of only 25 minutes, yet constitutes an expose of substantively loaded solid facts which underly the catastrophic process which is acceleratingly corroding destructively our democracy, by its insidious deconstruction of our most foundational institutions and even Constitutional rights to the point that if it is allowed to continue it will bring about a socio-economic and national security chaotic crisis of such proportions that its damage will destabilize our nation in ways never before imaginable.

The conjunction of the synergy of the sinister daily deconstruction of our democracy and its institutions is taking place as our treasury is hemorrhaged by  (ALT) right-wing extremist corrupt,  dishonest, and incompetent Trumpist/Neocon and some extend as well Neolib politician, must be ended before its monumental destructiveness brings about irreversible damage to everyone but the plutocratic kleptomaniac demolition elite generating this catastrophe.

As The Washington Post E.J. Dionne Jr. reported today, on November 16, 2017 “  The GOP bill that should be called the Cut Taxes on President Trump and Other Very Rich People Act of 2017 always had a secondary purpose : jack up the deficit so Republicans could later cry out in horror ‘Look at the awful debt!’  They would then use the pools of red ink they created to justify deep cuts social programs”.

This Kafkaesque modus operandus is perversely bereft of any rationality, besides being utterly socially destructive and downright illegal.

The same applies to the ratcheting up of the hate and fear and war mongering against imaginary “ threats “ by this administration and its neocon and its neolib acolytes against such nations as the only stable, increasingly democratic Midle East nation of Iran which has been an ally in the isolation, delusion, and defeat of Daesh (aka ISIS) while simultaneously encouraging the real seriously threatening and destabilizing thuggish regimes and misadministrations of Saudi Arabia led by the dictator Mohammed bin Salman and of Israel, led by the supremacist nationalist Zionist power structure of Netanyahu,  which are the recipients of  US arms and support notwithstanding  their being  unlawful and barbaric and murderously oppressive and destructive regimes which are out to crash the infrastructure and to literally kill the innocent unarmed civilians in Yemen, and in Palestine,  respectively.

The agenda of this grotesque and international law violating behavior, likewise has the secondary purposes of  (a) to syphon off trillions of dollars from our badly needed social programs and infrastructure repair to the  industrial military complex which President Eisenhower warned the American people about in his farewell address,  and (b) to divide destructively to conquer entire regions of the globe for the hegemonic objective of extracting its fossil fuel natural resources recklessly and unlawfully.

A simple analysis of the world military budgets documents in hard figures the reality that the U.S. spends more in its wasteful aggression than the rest of the world combined – and that BTW, now includes the billions to be spent of upgrading our nuclear weapons which is an insanity which has the potential to destroy life on this planet even if simply by an act of human error.

This applies as well to an analysis of the billions to trillions of social spending dollars which are stolen from the American people by its unnecessary 800 military installations in the world, when in contrast to that,  Britain, France, and Russia combined have 30, and the People’s Republic of China has only One !

No nation is a military threat to the United States as its home based defenses are more than enough to deter such a remote possibility, but the continuing perversity of the unbridled military expansionism coupled to its interventionism on medancious pretexts will not only represent an inner threat to our socio-economic stability but can eventually , as stated supra, result in an eventual world war against the U.S. which could become a nuclear one.

We must begin to emulate our formerly loyalist neighbors in the north, namely  Canada, and only a reformed progressive and grassroots Democratic party purged of its NEO suffix will achieve that, this will  be the beginning of a movement which must call itself LET AMERICA BE ALL IT CAN BE PEACEFULLY AGAIN.

This will be an America which will not lead but inspire by the power of example and not by the “example” of the destructive military power.
