Israel’s More Than a Decade Long Support of South Africa’s Apartheid White Supremacist Regime 08/20/2014

This writer attended a presentation at the prestigious Palestine Center in Washington, DC which focused on the subject matter of what has become now known as Israel’s Apartheid character nature.
Former President Jimmy Carter wrote on a book in 2007 on this subject called “Palestine : Peace, Not Apartheid ”
The presentation featured Samel Abdelnour as the guest speaker. Mr. Abdelnour is the Co-Founder of the Al-Shabaka Palestinian Policy Network. He is an Assistant Professor of the Rotterdam School of Management and is presently completing a PhD at the London School of Economics.
At the end of the presentation, this writer brought up a subject which the mainstream media conspicuously has ignored, namely the close collaboration of the Israeli occupation regime with the South African Apartheid regime for almost two decades, a collaboration which, as the guest speaker confirmed, was characterized by Israel’s role as a major weapons systems supplier to that white supremacist regime of South Africa. The specific aspect which is most conspicuously avoided by the mainstream media is the subject of Israel’s proliferation of the weaponization technology of nuclear weapons.
While it is known that as a result of a secret agreement between President Nixon and PM Golda Meyer in 1969, Israel has acquired an arsenal of nuclear WMD’s, it maintains what it calls a policy of “strategic ambiguity” as regards to this reality, and furthermore it has refused to sign on to the nuclear arms Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
While attending the one day National Summit to Reassess US-Israeli “Special” Relationship at the National Press Club, this writer had the opportunity to question Professor Paul Pillar, a former National Intelligence Officer for the Near East and South Asia, about Israel’s collaboration in the development of a nuclear bomb in Apartheid South Africa, and notably in his response Mr. Pillar said that the CIA is aware that a nuclear devices was detonated off the coast of South Africa during that time.
This writer has written an article on this National Summit event on April 16, 2014 and has included the National Press Club’s CSpan video for the whole event, although the portion relevant to this writer’s posing the question to, and reply by, Professor Paul Pillar are found by advancing the video to the time-line point 08:01:54.
The Palestine Center video for the whole event is also included, and the portion relevant to the posing of the relevant question by this writer and response thereto by Professor Samel Abdelnour are found by advancing said video to the time-line point 32:31.
As Mr. Abdelnour also confirmed, Israel looked at the South African Bantustan system of oppressive segregation and exploitation of the African natives with particular interest as Israel itself was, and remains, involved in the process of setting up and maintaining a similar system of its own for the native dwellers and owners of their Palestinian lands and other properties which it has dispossessed from them violently since 1948, and then more so after 1967.
One of the books which documents in detail the collaboration of the two Apartheid states is titled “The Unspoken Alliance : Israel’s Secret Relationship with Apartheid South Africa” by Sasha Polakow-Suransky. The author was a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University. He and his parents lived in Apartheid South Africa wherefrom they were forced to leave. His book was praised by, inter alia, Yossi Beilin, Justice Minister of Israel, 199-2001, and Shlomo Ben-Ami, Foreign Minister of Israel, 2000-2001.
You are amazing, Alfred, in your tireless efforts to unearth all the buried dark secrets and broadcast them far and wide!
