As an updating addendum to the previously published article titled  Berta Caceres Assassination Highlights Hillary Clinton’s Egregious Support for the Honduran Coup in 2009 it is important to note that illustrious Mexican sociologist Gustavo Castro Soto (depicted supra),who is the friend and colleague of the brutally assassinated Berta Caceres human rights worker and environmental activist (depicted infra) , and who witnessed the targeted assassination squad breaking down the door to the residence, was also shot, twice, but survived feigning to have died.

This morning at 5 AM, when Gustavo was at the Tegucigalpa International airport in the presence of the Mexican ambassador, when he was about to board the airplane to fly back to Mexico, he was forcibly prevented from leaving by Honduran government agents who took him back to the town of Esperanza.

This example of criminal lawlessness is characteristic of the political climate of corruption and oppression which has characterized life in Honduras after the violent coup of democratically elected populist President Zelaya took place.  Zelaya managed to obtain asylum and protection at the Brazilian embassy at the time.

The silence of the U.S. government and the incredible statements of veiled support for the coup by Hillary Clinton were and remain beyond shameless.

The silence of The Washington Post for the last two days as this horrific event is unfolding which is now becoming an international incident if the Mexican government does what is must do, is also repulsive and exasperating.
