The Arming of Israel (and Saudi Arabia and Egypt) and the Villification of Iran Are Leading Us and The Affected Regions Into an Abyss of Irreparable Damage

In the words of Senate Intelligence Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein, ”  History will judge us by our commitment to a just society governed by law and the willingness to face an ugly truth and say  ‘never again’. ”

As a direct descendant of parents who escaped the Nazi crimes against the humanity of Jews and others, this writer deems it an “..ugly truth…” that our government of either neocons or neoliberals in the White House, continues to pander to the pernicious undue influence of AIPAC and other corrupting political influences by continuing to support financially and militarily the misleadership of Israel by Netanyahu and his Likud cohorts and by continuing to vilify and threaten Iran militarily on specious grounds, particularly now that Iran’s elections resulted in a major victory for the reformers who have risen to power thanks to President Obama’s via the P5+1 diplomacy with President Rouhani  of Iran.

Vice President Biden, who comes across as an affable man endowed with avuncular dimensions, but who often lacks a command the fundamentals of history and often is given to misspeak in ways which can be embarrassing and damaging, while in Tel Aviv, to please his hosts, “warned” Iran for testing missiles (?).

It turns out that missile developments is not specifically prohibited under the nuclear deal, and of course, all of the neighbors of Israel have a right to defend themselves when attacked by Israel.

Israel killed tenths of thousands of Lebanese and Palestinians living in refugee camps in Lebanon during the 80’s, when Israel savagely bombed that country, then Israel bombed the Syrian nuclear reactor al-Kibar in 2007, additionally  Israel Mossad agents carried out varioustargeted assassinations of Iranian scientists who were “suspected” of working on the nuclear program.

Outside of the Middle East Israel has also been involved in documented covert military adventurism for profit and for political reasons during the era of the dirty wars in Central America, and it shipped cluster bombs to the fascist dictator of General Pinochet after his 9/11 of 1973 coup against Dr. Salvador Allende which was coordinated with the CIA and ITT during the Nixon/Kissinger era, and yet Iran has never military attacked anyone of its neighbors but twice was the victim of the military aggression by the Britain and the U.S.

Also for profit and political reasons Israel proliferated its clandestinely acquired technology for the weaponization of nuclear energy to the then Apartheid white supremacist regime of South Africa.  This was amply documented in, inter alia, “The Unspoken Alliance : Israel’s Secret Relationship With Apartheid South Africa” by Sasha Polakow-Suransky.

In 1953, Iran’s democracy of Mossadegh was crushed by a joint British/U.S. intervention which resulted in the installation of the murderous dictatorship of the Shah, and in 1982 Saddam Hussein, with U.S. support during the Reagan administration, initiated a war on Iran.

With this synopsis of historical reality, VP Biden still had the temerity to incite against and threaten Iran yesterday while in Tel Aviv, and did so rather bizarrely  by declaring (sic) ” All their conventional activity outside of the deal, which is still beyond the deal, we will and are attempting to act wherever we can find it ” (William Booth and Carol Morello, The Washington Post, March 10, 2016).

Badly misspeaking, in effect, Biden was trying to threaten Iran militarily for the sheer hell of it, without any valid reason, and most probably he did it to please the misleader of Israel, Netanyahu who so egregiously tried to sabotage the nuclear issue talks of President Obama, and who also so egregiously carried out an intrusion by collusion with the Republicans into our Congress, in an utter display of rudeness to our President.

This is a shameless spectacle for a Vice President to put on in the capital of a clandestinely nuclear armed so-called “nation-state” implanted violently with Western support into the midst of Palestine in 1948 and which then has proceeded to engage into a systematic literal ethnic cleansing of the legitimate autochthonous owners of its land for centuries.

This shameless spectacle is made even worse by the fact that the mission of Biden’s trip to Tel Aviv is to advance talks between the White House and Netanyahu over a new multibillion-dollar military aid package to this forcibly implanted  “nation-state” entity which Israel is as having morphed into it by becoming the  product of the nationalization of the Judaic religion in synergy with the abusive misuse of the ancient bible which was used as some kind of lien on the land of the legitimate owners of Palestine.

At a time when the U.S. has a 19 trillion dollar debt which amounts to $ 160 thousand dollars per American family, and at a time when on a daily basis approximately  $ 10-15 million dollars daily of our taxpayers funds flow into Israel, in our name and with our money an additional billions of dollars of armaments  is being pushed by Netanyahu in a 10-year package form.  This insanity can only but lead to more and endless violence in a region which is being decimated by war, and soon possibly by epidemics.

Netanyahu delusionally and opportunistically used this mythology to come to Paris where he was asked not to come by France’s President Hollande, on the occasion of the Charlie Hebdo tragedy, in order to opportunistically exploit said tragedy and declare absurdly that he “speaks for all Jews” and that all French Jews should “come home” to the “promised land“.  Later when he tried the same nonsense in a synagogue in Paris he was got what deserved from the Jewish guests who offended by his statement got up, one by one and started singing the Marseillaise since for these, rational, assimilated Jews, Paris is their promised land.

Israel is already armed to its teeth, but it cannot use its nuclear weapons or its ballistic missiles to destroy the people it horrifically oppresses as it has morphed into an Apartheid supremacist state, even after its misleadership carried out in the summer of 2014 a massive massacre of mostly unarmed close to 3 thousand civilians including 500 children in the world’s largest concentration camp in history, namely Gaza.

The collusion between the U.S.’s neocons, neoliberals, and the industrial military complex under the sordidly corrupting undue influence of the AIPAC lobby is responsible for this disastrous and sociopathically inhumane and unjust and counter productive policy.

“We the people” must and can end this monstrous addition of fuel to fire peacefully by voting out neocons and neoliberals and by choosing to vote for Bernie Sanders.

Col. Andrew Basewich, professor of Boston University, former Vietnam War veteran and the father of a U.S. soldier who died in 2009 in the war on Iraq carried out on fraudulent grounds, teaches that none of the presidential potential nominees,  other than Bernie Sanders, show the proclivity or the capacity or the understanding to analyze that decades of our colossal failures of our endless projections of militaristic power has brought anything but catastrophic hemorrhages of treasury and of blood, not to mention the nightmarish destruction of infra structure and the generation of horrific reprisal attacks in the regions of the world we have mindlessly and greedily targeted for our failed impositions of hegemony.

On March 18, 2016 there will be a conference addressing this pathological state of affairs at the prestigious National Press Club, and on March 21, 2016 there will be an event at the Washington Convention Center titled “Disarm AIPAC”.

It must be noted that none of these events, just as none of what this article expresses has a scintilla of a so-called “anti-Semitic” dimension.  Quite on the contrary, the two events described supra are attended by huge numbers of distinguished Jewish and Israeli scholars, journalists, military dissidents, human rights activists, students, and peaceful conflict resolution with justice for Palestinians aspiring rational religious and secular humanists.

Masterful, Alfred. Your ability to see and to ‘tell it like it is’ reminds me of what honest,
professional journalism used to be like. I believe that you do not stand alone. I just wish
that those who could effect change in the morass you address here would stand up
    and be counted.

    Thank you, Alfred.

In a nutshell, you’ve explained the malicious, militaristic destructiveness of the U.S. gov’t and its cohort, Israel/AIPAC, in both historical and current dimensions. I’ve shared on Facebook and Twitter. Kudos to you!
