An Important Special Argentum Post Announcement [ re: Electoral College Extinction Need and Instant Runoff Voting Inception & Plus ]
3November 10, 2016 by Alfred
For those readers who are not acquainted with the Argentum Post mission and objectives and with its historical background, this succinct announcement is most needed in the aftermath of the historically probably most disastrous election in the United States.
The Argentum Post (“AP”) is NOT an ideo-political blog.
Far from it, it is one embodiment of literary activism in support of peace through justice, diplomacy, peaceful conflict resolution, respect of human rights and for total equality of all under the U.S. Constitution, participative democracy with zero tolerance for undue influence by would-be plutocrats and any other undue influence lobby, and the total global elimination of all nuclear weapons, and the international consensus supported by the United Nations to end of conflicts by armed aggression and/or intervention.
Furthermore, it is not the business of ANY NATION on earth to appoint itself a “world leader” and it is the imperative of ALL NATIONS of the world to inspire by the power of example and NOT EVER MORE by the unilateral example of power.
With this foreword and, cutting to the chase, the following message by Michael Moore is disseminated, on the day after the catastrophic election of Donald Trump.
Prior to the dissemination of Michael Moore’s message however, one more announcement is made.
While the AP refused to endorse the nominee and then candidate Hillary Clinton, this was done so NOT on the basis of “political” considerations as “politics” is defined merely as “the art and science of acquiring and consolidating power“, but instead on a rational, ethical, legal, and historically informed accurate determination that for anyone grounded on civilized and humanist values, the dismissal of the value of the life of millions of innocent, unarmed, civilians as “collateral damage” in the pursuit of hegemony and supremacy dominance by any nation, including the United States, as well as Israel, must clearly be repudiated with zero tolerance for any so-called exceptions.
Hillary Clinton was and is throughly documentably, one of the main ideologues of the neocon/neolib cabal determined to ignore the sacrosanct value of such human lives in the U.S. interventionist wars and support for terrorizing regimes conducting said wars, such as – most notably – Saudi Arabian, Egypt, and the Zionist misleadership of Israel.
Having established this point most emphatically and clearly, it must be equally be established that this stance taken by the AP , by not the wildest stretches of the imagination cannot be interpreted, that actively or passively the AP endorsed the Trump campaign. Any attempt by anyone to infer this from the AP’s stance to not condemn and not endorse the Clinton campaign is guilty of grotesque and possibly malign attempt to calumniate the AP’s message and fundamental mission.
It is sad that the taking of highly principled humanistic stands by the AP which led it to express support of the only potentially “clean” and highly qualified nominees/candidates in this 2016 election, namely Bernie Sanders and then Jill Stein of the Green Party, both of which were sabotaged by the DNC, and/or by mainstream media, and/or by the establishment, the AP finds itself critiqued for not corrupting its own said principled humanist values based stand.
Therefore, prior to presenting the readers of the AP with the just released message by Michael Moore, this writer presents the a crucial component of the genesis of the history of the College of Electors, which along with the glaring absence of the inception of the imperative presence of an Instant Runoff Voting (IRV) system, have caused the present political calamitous debacle.
It must from now become a primary objective of all Americans to organize to once for all call for DIRECT popular elections and that means the elimination of that museum piece of centuries ago, called the INDIRECT voting by unaccountable “electors” who are somehow surrealistically considered “superior” to the electors which “we the people” are in reality.
After 20 years of a 1964 right wing military coup against the popularly elected President João Goulart of Brazil, a period characterized by the disappearances of innocent people, of incarceration without trial, and of torture, this coup – which incredibly – was supported by the U.S., collapsed and as a result the people of Brazil regained their freedom and demanded immediately what they called “Diretas Já”, meaning DIRECT VOTE Instantly.
If Brazil has had its direct vote restored in 1985, 5 weeks after the collapse of the military dictatorship, “We the people” in America must demand this as well, and immediately, preferably yesterday…
As a preface therefore for the Michael Moore message, said component of the generis of the history of the College of Electors is presented infra.
“The function of the College of Electors in choosing the president can be likened to that in the Roman Catholic Church of the College of Cardinals selecting the Pope. The original idea was for the most knowledgeable and informed individuals from each State to select the president based solely on merit and without regard to State of origin or political party.
The structure of the Electoral College can be traced to the Centurial Assembly system of the Roman Republic. Under that system, the adult male citizens of Rome were divided, according to their wealth, into groups of 100 (called Centuries). Each group of 100 was entitled to cast only one vote either in favor or against proposals submitted to them by the Roman Senate. In the Electoral College system, the States serve as the Centurial groups (though they are not, of course, based on wealth), and the number of votes per State is determined by the size of each State’s Congressional delegation. Still, the two systems are similar in design and share many of the same advantages and disadvantages.”

Secondly is the excellent message by Michael Moore which most importantly states the fact that Hillary Clinton actually won the election by the popular vote, just as Al Gore in 2000 won the election by the popular vote.
Instead of Al Gore “we the people” had to endure the Cheney/Bush calamity which brought us the catastrophic war on Iraq on dishonest claims, and in view of Tony Blair’s involvement in this criminal scheme (as documented by the British Chilcot Inquiry) to exploit on the basis of falsehoods the criminal 9/11 attacks on the Trade Towers, an infamous attack which is now documentary linked to Saudi Arabia which continues to receive billions of dollars of armaments to carry out a massacre in Yemen, and now in 2016 we have to endure the surreal Trump presidency when we could have had a Bernie Sanders one if the DNC, and its infamous and disgraced director, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, had done her job ethically and honestly,.
Therefore, here is said Michael Moore’s plea to all who consider themselves the members of “we the people” , as a first step in dealing the literally apocalyptic electoral miscarriage which should never have happened and never will again if we draw the right lessons from it.

Morning After To-Do List:
1. Take over the Democratic Party and return it to the people. They have failed us miserably.
2. Fire all pundits, predictors, pollsters and anyone else in the media who had a narrative they wouldn’t let go of and refused to listen to or acknowledge what was really going on. Those same bloviators will now tell us we must “heal the divide” and “come together.” They will pull more hooey like that out of their ass in the days to come. Turn them off.
3. Any Democratic member of Congress who didn’t wake up this morning ready to fight, resist and obstruct in the way Republicans did against President Obama every day for eight full years must step out of the way and let those of us who know the score lead the way in stopping the meanness and the madness that’s about to begin.
4. Everyone must stop saying they are “stunned” and “shocked”. What you mean to say is that you were in a bubble and weren’t paying attention to your fellow Americans and their despair. YEARS of being neglected by both parties, the anger and the need for revenge against the system only grew. Along came a TV star they liked whose plan was to destroy both parties and tell them all “You’re fired!” Trump’s victory is no surprise. He was never a joke. Treating him as one only strengthened him. He is both a creature and a creation of the media and the media will never own that.5. You must say this sentence to everyone you meet today: “HILLARY CLINTON WON THE POPULAR VOTE!” The MAJORITY of our fellow Americans preferred Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump. Period. Fact. If you woke up this morning thinking you live in an effed-up country, you don’t. The majority of your fellow Americans wanted Hillary, not Trump. The only reason he’s president is because of an arcane, insane 18th-century idea called the Electoral College. Until we change that, we’ll continue to have presidents we didn’t elect and didn’t want. You live in a country where a majority of its citizens have said they believe there’s climate change, they believe women should be paid the same as men, they want a debt-free college education, they don’t want us invading countries, they want a raise in the minimum wage and they want a single-payer true universal health care system. None of that has changed. We live in a country where the majority agree with the “liberal” position. We just lack the liberal leadership to make that happen (see: #1 above).
Let’s try to get this all done by noon today.

Sadly, I think that demanding the popular vote *right now by demonstrations *will only make pawns of progressives in the military-industrial establishment’s fight to the death for its lost power. Trump has thrown over the establishment by utter surprise, and I believe they will do anything to regain their power. Time to stay on the sidelines (emotionally and physically) and just watch from a distance to gain an objective perspective necessary for in-depth analysis. At the same time we can work hard to make the Green party strong. The system has been fomenting fear of Trump to hold its footing with Hillary at the helm: Well they lost, and now they will foment hysteria in the streets to try and overthrow Trump before he steps foot in the White House. If that doesn’t work, well just use your imagination as to what they might do to get rid of him.
If we get Hillary into the White House by demanding the popular vote, we’re voting in World War 3! For all the rotten things Trump might do, World War 3 is not on his list! *Michael Moore is making my skin crawl right now! *
Hugs, Marie
For sure I agree.
What I am most passionate now and forever is that the electoral college needs to become extinct, and of the imperative of the inception of the IRV system for future third party successes.
