In  the “Back to Bush” titled Washington Post article of May 14, 2016 which describes the “international leadership award” given to W. Bush, one cannot but deplore this reflection of a sign of the times of utter decadence of ethics and  historical awareness, and of the appalling absence of integrity and honesty which made this surreal and bizarre award possible.

One also is instantly reminded of a characterization made by the famous American writer and public intellectual, namely Gore Vidal,  who deplored profoundly and for totally valid reasons that so many of us in these USA, live in another “USA”, namely the “United States of Amnesia”, and/or conceal shamelessly  historical reality.

The parameters which limit the scope of a letter to the editor do not allow one to describe the incompetence, greed, ignorance, arrogance, and dishonesty which allowed neocons and neolibs to take our nation to two wars in 2001 and 2003  which so destabilized and destroyed  Afghanistan and Iraq in ways for which “we the people” continue to pay for dearly to this day, not to mention the thousands of American servicemen’s lives lost and or maimed, and the hundreds of thousands of Afghanis and Iraqis lives and infrastructure destroyed in the hegemonic addiction to the control of fossil fuel and politics in the Middle East.

The Cheney/Bush et al. era is not over until and if those who collaborated with the massive fraudulent claims fabrications are brought to justice and held accountable for their heinous  crimes of deceit and crimes against humanity.  The damage they caused is irreparable and yet, we continue on the same path under Trump, now generating falsehoods about Iran and about the historical reality of the genesis of the might make right invasions and occupations of Palestine by that embodiment of the nationalization of the Judaic faith which was opposed by the vast majority of all Jews globally, namely the Zionist supremacist racist ideology to justify the 70-year international law violation of the invasions, occupations, and annexation of the land of the Palestinians.

PS In case it is relevant, the writer of this letter is the son of parents who were decent Jewish Torah universal values abiding teachings who survived the Nazi crimes against the humanity of Jews – and others.
