[APNFD Nr. 112] The Barbarically Abusive Torture Meted Out on Julian Assange for His Documented Exposure of U.S. War Crimes in Iraq is an AtrocityLeave a comment

This is an ARGENTUM POST News Flash Digest [Nr. 112]
Julian Assange is a principled, professional, courageous publisher/journalist who has exposed government wrongdoing and corruption in a balanced and objective manner.
In his pursuit of egregious wrongdoing in areas where very deplorably the corporatist mainstream media either does not go or when it does, reports tendentiously, Assange has reported on and captured video footage of the assassination of unarmed civilians, among them Reuters news agency workers, as they were being mowed down by remote-controlled automatic machine killing machines, while the soldiers carrying out the said killings were laughing and joking about what they were doing.
This is just one tiny example of the plethora of instances of this catastrophic war that the Cheney/Bush junta along with their neocon/neolib acolytes caused on the basis of fraudulently fabricated evidence when such horrific events occurred.
The aftermath of this catastrophe initiated in 2003, exploiting the other catastrophic event of 9/11 which were carried out by Saudi Arabians with the participation of private and government sectors and NOT by Iraqis, have cost the lives of more than 100,000 innocent civilians, tenths of thousands of American soldiers, at a cost of more than a trillion dollars, yet to this day none of these fabricators has been held accountable in any court for this crime against humanity. This is truly obscene.
Assange denied the charges while he was in London (he is an Australian citizen)and hence the UK Supreme Court determined to extradite him to Sweden. Fearing extradition from Sweeden to the U.S. where Assange would face bizarrely “espionage” charges (?!) in the U.S., he requested political asylum at the embassy of Ecuador where he remained for 7 years while Equador was presided by a competent, progressive, President Raphael Correa.
On April 11, 2019, Assange was arrested at the Equatorial embassy now under the right-wing extremist misleadership of the corrupt President Moreno who then received a $4.2 billion loan.
Meanwhile, the Sweedish charges had been dropped for lack of evidence, so instead of allowing Assange to return to this Australian home, he has now been put into solitary confinement in the UK, and is now facing extradition to the U.S. where he would face 170 years sentence for the falsely attributed charges of espionage.
This is way beyond “cruel and unusual ” punishment. This is perverse and criminal and hypocritical punishment. The recent real terrorist who stabbed and killed two people on London Bridge had been jailed previously for terrorist offenses, yet after only 6 years in jail, he was freed. This is beyond incomprehensible.
So, with this abbreviated foreword, the ARGENTUM POST now turns over to its readers the video of an interview which was conducted by the prestigious and incisive host of “Going Underground”, namely Afshin Rattansi, of Nils Melzer who is a highly reputable Swiss academic, author, author and practitioner of International Law as well as the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Torture.
Nils Melzer has declared Julian Assange of having been documentably exposed to torture in the high-security UK penitentiary where he has been in solitary confinement.
This is a sign of the times when innocent are punished and the guilty are the punishers as the UK power structure and the US to a much more intensive power structure have both veered off the tracks in a speeding and dangerous path to proto-fascism, and unending interventionist wars which only benefit the odious military-industrial complex which thus far only Bernie Sanders and Tulsi Gabbard promised to end.
See therefore infra, the video of this very relevant and revealing miscarriage of justice.
